Diego
Diego had gone to the Plains to secure an alliance…he had not been expecting to return home with a queen. A queen who had decided to throw a tantrum upon hearing her brothers plans for her. For Diego such behaviour wasn’t impressive especially coming from a mare which meant that as far as he was concerned this Yaviél…his queen was a stuck up spoilt creature. She was a delicate thing as well as a good deal shorter than the northern king which would make it harder for her to cope with the cold climate and fulfil her royal duty. In all honesty Diego had no idea how accepting his only daughter would be either. As they crossed the border he sought Lux out knowing that his daughter would be sure to be waiting for his return and sure enough his orbs quickly found her. A smiled formed on his face as he moved to greet his daughter not even bothering to spare Yavi a glance...it wasn’t like they had been talking to each other during the journey. No their arrangement was a formal one. The concern in his daughters voice was soothing her playful remark drawing a chuckle free the sound somewhat guttural. “Aye we have our alliance lass…and a queen for Arcarian.” The stud feels a little guilty at the sight of surprise on his daughters face and when her gaze shifts to the mare behind him he follows her gaze. Turning Diego can’t help but mutter a ‘be nice’ to Lux before addressing his queen for the first time since they left the plains. “Yaviél my queen this is my daughter Lux.”

Lux
For Lux the waiting had been spent mostly stressing over her fathers welfare and the possibility that he would not be successful in securing an alliance. She knew all too well how his temper could get the better of him and how much he hated politics. So when his figure finally appeared on the horizon she was relieved beyond words and while she had noticed the other figure she had assumed that it was simply someone seeking to join them. When her father makes his approach she matches his smile easily warmth dancing in her orbs as she greets him. “Father welcome home I was starting to get worried. Did you manage to secure the alliance…or did your temper result in you injuring the kings pride?” There is concern in her voice mainly but she cannot resist teasing him. His reassuring reply eases whatever lingering worries there are but it leaves her speechless as well. A queen was not something that Lux had expected to happen for months…years perhaps never at all. The surprise is masked quickly though her fathers warning to be nice is practically ignored as she surveys the other mare. Lux finds her wanting for not only is this queen a good three hands smaller than her father but she is also a dainty thing….she will most likely struggling with living in Arcarian and any child birthing will probably be difficult. Lux may be a princess of Arcarian but she is not a dainty helpless thing. No she has been trained to be able to defend herself and she has the muscles to show for it. When her father makes the introductions Lux makes no move to show any respect towards Yavi for Lux is the firstborn and heir…she is equals with this foreign queen.
