Welcome to Defying Gravity, a semi-realistic natural horse rpg!
There are no mutations, magic, or rainbow ponies here; the horses of the Homelands must carve out a life for themselves by their wits and strength alone. We have no cannons or "site-wide plot" to speak of as we've found that there are a ton of creative people out there and when our members are left to their own devices the plots stay fresh and fun for everyone. So if you're looking for a laid back site with no so called "unique" plot you must adhere to, Defying Gravity just might be the place for you!!

The filly wasn't sure how much longer she could continue. The days had drug on since Thomasina had strayed from her mother's side. Her natural curiosity was completely uncharacteristic of her breed. Kiangs were conformist and followed each other, barely ever thinking for themselves. They lived a much different life than their equine counterparts. Kiangs were also much fewer on the ground. Most could only be found in select locations like the Plains or the Freelands.
Today, the lone, three-month-old filly wobbled around the northern border of Drulan, helpless and weak. Thomasina's eyes were heavy with emotion and her joints shook as she stepped foot. Every noise frightened her, though it had been long since she'd been able to react. Her body told her to lie down and give up, but her brain told her she still might find her mother. She just had to keep looking. The young kiang's oversized ears flopped on either side of her skull, her eyes following her path.
Thomasina stopped to look at her surroundings, trying one last time to recognize something - anything. She lifted her head and scanned the canopy above her. With a small cough, the kiang foal filled her tiny throat with a labored braying sound akin to that of her species... Hopefully someone would hear...
“Oy, come along now wee one! Mama has lots ta’ show ye!”
The petite, vividly red colored mare called out to her precious child. Her firstborn and strangely beautiful daughter. Her darling Aoife was definitely...unique to say the least. Her tryst with the zebra stallion some time ago had resulted in her daughter, but she did not regret her actions that day. Though she had never seen the father after their time together and possibly never would, she loved her daughter with all her heart. Aoife was a tiny thing, small by even Morrigan’s standards, which was not surprising given how short her father had been. She would probably be short and petite for her entire life, but the idea did not bother Morrigan much. She did come from a small family, after all.
With a happy cry, Aoife bounded to Morrigan, bouncing against her side briefly, before dashing off again with a burst of energy. A boisterous laugh escaped her before she dashed off after her, though as a significantly slower pace than Aoife. Aoife was only a few months old, thus grace was not her strong suit. Morrigan did not want to hurt her daughter. Warm brown eyes found Aoife easily in the woods, for her daughter was just as vividly colored as her mother. With a bright red dun coat and white stripes, it was hard not to notice the wee little thing. That is, if one somehow missed the squeals of delight that erupted from her small body, now that her mother decided to play with her.
