Waleran was not about to let his precious plains go to just anybody. It had to go to someone he respected, someone he trusted. Who better than himself?
The stallion had been deliberating for sometime now, since the plains' old ruler had drifted away. The territory had since become a place of independence, where horses came without fear or worry. he hated to see his plains left in the dust while other places thrived with herds of their own. Herds were to be run with diligence and fear. No one would listen if they did not fear the outcome of not doing so. Waleran knew himself to be the perfect medicine for a dying territory. Today was the day that all of this quiet would come to a close. He would break the silence with the strike of his steel hoof.
Waleran stood tall and strong today, his wicked mane flowing strong beside him. The wind had picked up today, as if Mother Nature had heard his call for power. He didn't always see things Her way, but it seemed the two were in accord, for now. The black and white horse scanned the horizon for any sign of life. As the winter came to a close, creatures began to show their faces big and small. Deer were a stronger presence and equines wandered in and out... Someone needed to plant the breezy ones.
Waleran let his voice go at this point, shaking his neck this way and that as his emotions took hold. His neigh was loud and frantic as the stallion kicked up a storm and reared with power. "The plains are mine! I am Waleran and I claim this land for myself! No other shall call this place home without my permission! All others will bow to me!" The black and white stallion shook out his claiming before calming his frame back into a rather splayed standing position. "I claim the plains for me," he reiterated.
That would do just fine.
