Welcome to Defying Gravity, a semi-realistic natural horse rpg!
There are no mutations, magic, or rainbow ponies here; the horses of the Homelands must carve out a life for themselves by their wits and strength alone. We have no cannons or "site-wide plot" to speak of as we've found that there are a ton of creative people out there and when our members are left to their own devices the plots stay fresh and fun for everyone. So if you're looking for a laid back site with no so called "unique" plot you must adhere to, Defying Gravity just might be the place for you!!

Winter entered the homeland with a swift, windswept breeze, chilling the hearts of those who still carried warmth within them. Nakita craved the warmth, shivering madly in the chill that eclipsed not only the season but also her heart. The first wife's skin began to tingle as she felt her magnet near.
The demon was perhaps one of the only equines to be able to ignore the cold of winter. He knew that his fiery companions were always near, and their cold fire staved off winter’s own. Angelus drew near to the oasis, the scent of Nakita thick in the air.

The pair where like magnets; opposites attracting with an intensity unaltered by nearly all. Nakita felt him before she saw him, his pull causing a frenzy to begin in her chest. "Demon. I am weak." It was different this time and she knew it.
Then he found her, standing as she always was; the mare was as dark as his own night. He frowned as she mentioned her weakness. “What do you speak of, dear one?” It was one thing for Nakita to be frail; it was another for her to speak of it.

Nakita frowned, glancing down to her sleeping daughter as she felt her mate'a approach. A sadness hung over her as she thought back to Juno at the oceans side. The sadness was almost tangible, coming off of her in waves.
The air around him seemed to sizzle and spark, marking the arrival of his companions. Angelus’ mood darkened a shade - the wraiths seldom brought peace to the king. He frowned and looked at his mate; concern overlaid with anger at whatever had done this to her shone in his black eyes.

His mood darkened, as if he where the night himself. "I just don't know anymore." Her words came in whispers inches from his ears as she extended her neck and closed her eyes. Nakita was thin this winter, her bones slipping around beneath her skin as she moved.
"I just wanted you to know. That baby you're the best."
She seemed different now, haunted even. Angelus tilted his head to hook his nose under her chin and pull her head up to look him in the eye. “They’ve come to speak to you, haven’t they.”

The mare's eye caught her lovers and it froze there in his heat. She stood still, but it felt as if she would fall straight through the sand and into the pit of hell itself if he wasn't holding her up by her chin. "They have, and they took some of me I fear."
"I just wanted you to know. That baby you're the best."
The lady focused on her breathing, slowing it to a comfortable pace and leaning into him as she began to calm herself. "I've failed you, failed the Dark One." A blink and a nod completed her sentence as she waited for him to leave her.
"Have you now?" His voice was a mixture of bemusement and lightness. Inside he was roiling with trepidation. What had she done? There was nothing serious that had happened lately in his herd, and he knew it. So what was this failure that she spoke of? Her change of heart towards his religious practices was also very worrying.

She watched as his confusion grew, her head sinking slightly. "Our beautiful daughters... I am a horrible mother." The wife looked up to him with regretting eyes, the emotion of three years flooding over her.
