Welcome to Defying Gravity, a semi-realistic natural horse rpg!
There are no mutations, magic, or rainbow ponies here; the horses of the Homelands must carve out a life for themselves by their wits and strength alone. We have no cannons or "site-wide plot" to speak of as we've found that there are a ton of creative people out there and when our members are left to their own devices the plots stay fresh and fun for everyone. So if you're looking for a laid back site with no so called "unique" plot you must adhere to, Defying Gravity just might be the place for you!!

The sight of barren trees and snow falling, throwing the world into a deep fog, was something uncomfortably calming to the white masked stallion. He didn't really remember his first two years of life, he knew they had been mostly happy though. This cold forest was a reminder that yet another year had passed, he was almost sad to see it go. It seemed like the ending of his innocence, though he knew it had been taken long before he ever stepped hoof into Halete.
Ver would have sneered at his memories but the still fresh wounds on lips kept his face dormant. Instead he looked around for a way to escape his tormenting mind, sadly there seemed nothing to 'entertain' him. He sighed and stamped a heavy feathered hoof on the snow layered ground, then he began digging away the layer of frost to see if there was anything edible underneath. Maybe food could distract him for just long enough.
Caoihme shook out her ebony mane, it waving lightly against her neck. They still remained damp from her earlier swim in the chilly water, and hadn't seemed to dry. The air here stung her nostrils, with a icy bite to it. In the Bayou, it had been warmer for the behemoth mare. As she traveled further along, bare trees came into her sight, surrounding her with white bark. Leaves had long since decomposed into the dirt belong her hooves. Snow fell softly onto the mare's back, making her jump as it melted almost instantly on her coat, leaving wet patches.
Further along in the trees, she caught sight of a stallion about her size with a dark coat and a light cream coloured mane and tail. The white patches among his coat traveled over his back in a flame-like pattern. Cautiously, she approached him slowly, nickering a greeting softly. " Hello there ." Her voice was soft in hopes of not scaring him. Though, by the scar on hi eye, she didn't think she'd scare him so easily.

The large stallion began to chew absentmindedly at the dying grass and vegetation, it was foul tasting and certainly not the best to be eating, but it did give him something to focus on. It felt as if his mind would wonder away if not kept on a tight leash. Ver was so consumed by the grass that he didn't notice the light crunch of snow that came with another approaching. When he heard the clearly famine voice ring out he looked up at her slowly, a blank almost bored expression on his face. His eyes roamed over her large frame equally as slowly, couldn't have her thinking he was too interested could he? "'Ello, Whats a lovely dame like you doing out here alone?" She had one of the strangest facial markings he had seen, even compared to his own. She truly was lovely though, and Ver couldn't keep his eyes from continuously roaming over her spectacular body.
Finally his eyes stopped on hers, like the cherry on top, they were stunning. The stallion smiled lightly," My name is Verdelet, it is a pleasure to meet you." He bowed extravagantly, laughing a little as the layer of snow that had built up on his back slid to the ground. He shook his entire body sending tiny droplets of melting snow though the air. He laughed once more and smiled, watching the mare carefully.
OOC: sorry this is kinda crappy, not feeling to great currently
Caoihme couldn't help but wonder what such a large stallion was doing by himself. Surely one as tall as himself would own a herd of his own with tons of mares ready to bow at his feet. His facial marking seemed to wrap around his muzzle on his right side. She pricked her ears up as he spoke the first time, noticing him examining her closely. Not that she cared in the least bit, as most others that met her always examined her. "Dame? I'm sure there are others that deserve that title more than I, but to answer your question, I am wandering. Wandering is only natural when you have no home." Her response ended with a huge almost sly grin on her white lips. "But surely a stallion such as your self would have a herd with mares for himself?" Another grin stretched across her face. This must of been her lucky day to go wandering.
As his eyes met with hers, she saw something among them, but she couldn't name it. His words seemed to just fall from his lips and she shook her mane out, a collection of snow flakes falling to the ground. She almost chuckled when he bowed, but she returned the favour out of courtesy. As her mane touched the ground, she stood again. " The pleasure is mine, Verdelet. The name is Caoihme.
Ver stood quietly watching the dappled bay beauty with contemplation. He had never really seen a are as large as her, even his mother was shorter. He cocked his head to the side, an almost child like curiosity came over him. He pushed it down though, he was an adult now and he couldn't be blurting out coltish questions.
He let out a light chuckle at her words, "Maybe so, but I don't see anyone, only you. So, Dame, where is it you wander from?" He caught her smile and returned it, though it wasn't as open as hers. Her next words caught him off guard, He had never really though of being a herd leader, well maybe when he was a yearling, but not now.
He cleared his throat awkwardly, " Well, I'm still young, and it looks like I have already found a mare to my liking." Now it was his turn for a sly grin, he bowed his head slightly watching for her reaction.
