Welcome to Defying Gravity, a semi-realistic natural horse rpg!
There are no mutations, magic, or rainbow ponies here; the horses of the Homelands must carve out a life for themselves by their wits and strength alone. We have no cannons or "site-wide plot" to speak of as we've found that there are a ton of creative people out there and when our members are left to their own devices the plots stay fresh and fun for everyone. So if you're looking for a laid back site with no so called "unique" plot you must adhere to, Defying Gravity just might be the place for you!!

Name: Fraser Gender: Stallion Age: 4 Height: 16 hh Species: Horse Body Type: Coldblood Eye Color: Brown eyes Coat Color: Bay Roan Markings: None
Place of Origin: The Midlands Herd: Bastein Mate: --- Foals: ---
Personality: Coming soon!
History: Fraser had a pleasant upbringing. The small band was peaceful, there weren't any fights and he learnt a few survival skills for living in the swampy areas. His family were not his biological ones however. Fraser's dam only became pregnant with him through a one night stand. He did not know who his father was, but it didn't matter much to him. His mother died shortly after giving birth to him from an infection from an alligator bite. At least, that was what happened according to the members of the band he and his mother joined shortly a few weeks before her death. A mated pair in the band became surrogate parents to Fraser as the mare had lost her foal but was still producing the milk that the young colt needed.
He was happy with his life. The bay gent did miss his mother but at that young age he was able to accept it. Alligators were predators and they were dangerous. His dam did not have much experience with them so everything he was told was plausible. It was only as he grew up that he began to question it, but he never said anything because he didn't want to upset the peace on a mere whim that there was a conspiracy from an even a year before. Fraser stayed in the band until it dispersed when he was two years old. He has not seen his adoptive family since then, and whilst he does remember them fondly he does not regret what happened.
For the next year of his life, Fraser travelled around the homelands, generally sticking to the Freelands. He did not meet anyone to speak of, just the occasional encounter on his travels. The stallion was careful to keep out of herd territories however; he did not want to get roped into being a part of a large family just yet. He feared the reaction of the mares. Now Fraser is not the largest horse around, but his frame can be quite intimidating for some. For this reason he grew cautious of meeting mares. The few he encountered did not react well, they built walls around them not so much as giving him a chance. Fraser was hurt the first time this happened but after the fifth, sixth and seventh times he quickly got used to it. As he turned four, the roan decided it was time he found a herd to settle into, time to return to something familiar. The stag chose Bastein Bayou to be his home, and there his story begins.
Name: Ffion Gender: Mare Age: 4 Height: 15.0hh Species: Horse Body Type: Hotblood Eye Color: Brown Coat Color: Bay Markings: Star
Place of Origin: The Freelands Herd: --- Mate: --- Foals: Fallon
Personality: A sweet mare, she rarely gets annoyed. She is protective of her child(ren) but is strong enough to let them go when need be. She is cheerful, friendly and optimistic. Don't mistake her for being naive however, because she isn't. Ffion is curious about the world about her and has learnt a thing or two in her life. Just because she shows the happier side to herself doesn't mean she never gets lonely or depressed. Everyone does. Unlike some Ffion will go out and do something about it; she had no qualms about meeting new equines and has a calm demeanour that generally will keep her out of trouble. She doesn't pry into the life of others when it is unwelcome, prefers to give them their space, but is a very good listener.
History: Stay tuned folks!
