Welcome to Defying Gravity, a semi-realistic natural horse rpg!
There are no mutations, magic, or rainbow ponies here; the horses of the Homelands must carve out a life for themselves by their wits and strength alone. We have no cannons or "site-wide plot" to speak of as we've found that there are a ton of creative people out there and when our members are left to their own devices the plots stay fresh and fun for everyone. So if you're looking for a laid back site with no so called "unique" plot you must adhere to, Defying Gravity just might be the place for you!!

The cold breath of the north had always called to the young mare, though Seele hadn't felt it in what seemed like ages. Seele smiled as she approached a small copse of trees near the Cikuq border. The only thing she loved more then the wind were trees, especially low hanging pines that held a strong scent. Seele sighed and rubbed happily against the bark of a taller tree.
Suddenly she heard the surprised chirping of a bird. She looked up and there, near the top, a bird of amazing red color was looking at her. She stood there amazed, it was such a rare thing to see a pretty bird like that. She was about to say something when a strong gust of wind hit them and the bird flew off in a huff. Seele frowned and kept looking off where the bird had disappeared. Then she shrugged, maybe it would come back?
(sorry awkward post, I didn't really know what to do with her)

The winds on the tundra could be bitterly cold, but sometimes luck was on his side and the sun warmed the earth just a little, even though true warmth was rarely experienced in Ciquk. Mavecci countered the cool weather by moving almost constantly during the day, keeping an eye on his land as well as watching for any equines that may have found their way onto the tundra. The exertion was enough to put a very light sheen of sweat on areas of his flawlessly creamy white coat, warming his body from the inside out. It also kept him from driving himself crazy with just thinking, alone out here. He'd gotten lucky recently, one mare finding her way into his home and into his herd. Already things were looking up, right?
But it seemed like that luck wasn't done running quite yet. Because though he couldn't catch its scent due to the wind, a form made itself known in the distance. The equine was under a copse of trees, and though he couldn't tell gender, that didn't really matter - company was company, and he enjoyed meeting a myriad of personalities. That in mind, the stallion picked up a canter, picking his way easily over the rocky ground.
He reached the equine - the mare, it turned out - and slowed to a stop a bit away from her, just in time to see a flash of red fly out of sight. The mare's eyes followed it, seeming a bit disappointed. Mavecci half-smiled, then lightly cleared his throat. "Don't worry, there are a lot of them around here. He'll be back, I'm sure." He stepped forward, moving himself so he could also block out the wind against the trees - not impolitely close to her, though. "I'm sorry to intrude - my name is Mavecci, I'm the leader of the herd here." It was said lightly, and not in a flashy way - just stating a fact, not flaunting the title.
