They say time heals all wounds. What a bold faced lie. Time heals nothing in this world or the next. What you do with said time is what really makes the difference. Time was what ate Nakita alive on a day to day basis. Time, and what little was being accomplished during it. Over a year had passed since Nakita had given birth to her first child. The daughter of the demon, Nakita's demon.
The first weeks after the coal colored child's birth had been the best. Nakita's instinct may not have been quite as strong as it should have been, but Angelus took up whatever slack Nakita was unable to handle. Angelus seemed to take up a lot of slack as the days drug into months and Nakita spiraled downward. The closeness she'd felt on the night of Juno's birth, the closeness she knew she would, from that moment on, forever crave, was no longer present on an hour by hour basis. Angelus was busy being a demon and Nakita often was left to fend for herself with the alien creature everyone called her child.
"Juno! Don't stray so far!" The rasp of a mothers voice broke the silence of the desert. The yearling filly was moving farther and farther into the distance as the pair made their way across their home in search for her father, the newly declared king. Nakita's head spun as she thought about this newest predicament. Angelus had left the pair approximately three days previous to the current hour, just as the sun began to drain through the horizon. The night was where he staked his claim on the kingdom and with said claim came a world of new possibilities not only for the demon, but for his demon bride and their demon child.
Nakita's nerves proved troublesome when he didn't return immediately, and an ominous feeling loomed over the mother daughter pair as they spent more alone time together. The filly was not attached to her mother, just as her mother never truly attached to her. Nakita cared. She loved the babe more then anything. Understanding and nurturing were not, however, coming quite as easily. "Really Juno. You mustn't go so far." Nakita began to nag as the child got further. She didn't want Juno at her side, but a certain sense of protective nature held Nakita hostage to the child's reckless ways. "Do you sense your father?" She inquired, scanning the darkening horizon herself and lifting her lip to test the air. The father daughter pair seemed to have a stronger bond then Nakita could even begin to imagine and part of her hoped her daughter had a homing signal that would beckon Angelus to them soon.
Darkness wasn't what scared Nakita. Her emergence within that darkness was what gave her an eerie chill.
ooc: well then. Apparently Nakita has a lot to say.
