KiriousFlowers danced in the winds as he opened his eyes, a haze set about everything he saw. There was a faint scent, and the grasses he stood in slowed as a rhythm was begun in the sway of motion. The petals brushed along his face, tickled his chin, and Kirious closed his eyes and inhaled deeply. He could not explain this sensation, but it enveloped his entire being. There was a scent to the flowers, an appearance as well, and it took Kiri a few moments before he was able to discern it. Cherry Blossoms. The black colt opened his eyes sharply for an instant, a cold washing over him and confusion spreading. His ears jerked behind him as a faint voice rang -- a touch of laughter; his head dropped, but confusion overwhelmed him. He could not identify the exact feelings, but he could feel a weeping inside of him; a sorry, a yearning. A warm wind hit alongside his cheek, brushing through his forelock and down his back. His hooves felt oddly soggy, almost muddy. Kirious felt his breath stricken, and couldn't make out what was going on. The blossoms never left, the scenery did not fade: the scents did not wash away, the sound of that voice..
What met him when he opened his eyes was far off from what he felt he'd experienced. He awoke to a smooth, cold earthen floor, water surrounding him in pools. It took the colt a few moments to regain memories, blinking his eyes several times and shaking his head to dispel what he wished not to remember. He flicked his tail several times, his body notifying him of aches as it came to wake. He'd lain on his side for sleep last night, instead of his normal curled position. The stallion heaved a sigh, still for a moment, before lying his head back to how he awoke. Through one eye facing the top of the cave that housed the coves, he looked forward and merely stared. What a time to be having dreams. Kirious snorted softly, stretching his hind legs outward so they could warm up before he put weight on them. With a bit of a groan, he pushed himself up into a curled lying position and shook his head once more. Looking around briefly, he took in the reflections of the water that pooled from several locations. As he was about to rise, small movement caught his attention. Perking his ear toward the ground to his right, the young stallion smiled as a small hermit crab made its way along the cove's floor. It wasn't far off from earthen ground, so he could only think the small creature was on a mission for water.. or something. He didn't know that much about hermit crabs, only that they were very curious creatures. Kirious watched the crab scuttle onward, making its way past Kiri's body with a motion of determination. The black stallion could only wonder what was the motive of the hermit, but not ponder it for too long.
Taking his attention from the colorful shell of the crustacean, Kirious gave a heave and pushed himself from the smooth ground. His side was cold, and a bit tight, but he knew it would work itself out in time. Giving himself a good shake to rid his fur of dust, Kirious cleared his nose and licked his lips. He paused a moment, trying to decide what the first order of business for the day would be. He was not far off from the entrance of the coves -- well, either one. One way was to swim outside the shelter and onto the side of the island, and another was to go through the cave-like trails. It wasn't like either was particularly difficult for an Island Native, but Kiri often found himself wondering what kind of tasks would be daunting to one who wasn't born here. The colt was too groggy to think straight at the moment, so his head was wandering all over the place. He decided then that a quick dip in one of the large pools of water would surely wake his body up, and he ambled to the closest one.
As he approached, he caught himself in his reflection. Kiri definitely looked tired, and like he'd had a rough night. He looked a few years older than his age, which brought a bit of a frown to the split-faced colt's lips. Ah well, nothing a cool dip can't fix. Then, it's off to find some of my favorite fruits! He thought about wandering the beaches later today, perhaps sunbathing. Warmth sounded very nice right now, after being in a colder location. Kirious looked away from his reflection before stepping into the water and wincing at the shock of its cold.
He grit his teeth slightly, and lunged into the waters. Letting out a rough snort as his belly and chest submerged, the stallion pinned his ears and lashed out for a moment to combat the chill. It definitely woke him up! Kirious waded in the waters, watching the ripples and how they distorted his reflection. As he calmed, he followed a couple of ripples and waded into the deeper waters -- until the water embraced his back, sending a chill up his neck and causing a twitch of a shake of his head. Kirious tossed his head, but continued wading in the water.

NOTES: Mmm, Kiri is kinda rusty with me so this isn't the greatest, but I'm getting my muse back slowly so I think the following posts will be better. c:♥
