Welcome to Defying Gravity, a semi-realistic natural horse rpg!
There are no mutations, magic, or rainbow ponies here; the horses of the Homelands must carve out a life for themselves by their wits and strength alone. We have no cannons or "site-wide plot" to speak of as we've found that there are a ton of creative people out there and when our members are left to their own devices the plots stay fresh and fun for everyone. So if you're looking for a laid back site with no so called "unique" plot you must adhere to, Defying Gravity just might be the place for you!!

The day was coming to a startlingly quick close, clouds that threatened to bring with them snow closed in over the lowering sun. The land that had just moments before been sunny and bright was cast with shadows and a fierce wind that seemed to be born out of the mood alone. Play who had been quietly foraging the cold earth now stood straight up. Banner flicked high over large and tense hindquarters, skull flung skywards as she sent a glance of pure loathing to the heavens above.
With the spirit of a newborn the ivory femme set off across the barren field. For all her jagged movements her strides were long and smooth, as if she couldn't disturb the natural uphill stride that she was designed with. She pranced seemingly on the spot for a brief moment before being taken by the wind itself and dashing across the flat expanse. Then she would pause, nose tilted into the breeze before knees snapped high and she pranced forward once more.
Just as there had been no real cause for her sudden high spirits there was no obvious reasoning behind why she decided to still. Not a single sign of tension showed in her now composed self, without a sideways glance to see if any had over looked her coltish dance she begun to forage once more. Her lips pulling without eating at the dry dead strands below.
Night, Ver had never been particularly fond of the night. He always felt it was a time for rest and reflection on what the day had been like, but even he couldn't follow that. He always felt a primal urge deep in his gut when night approached, like that of a predator. He grew restless and often traveled aimlessly for hours until exhaustion hit him.
Tonight his wondering lead him to the meadows of Halete, which seemed just as deserted as normal. His bright eyes scanned the open fields, hoping for any sign of movement. As if answering a silent preayer a ghostly figure burst into motion. Ver was a couple yards off and couldn't tell exactly what he was looking at, but just as quickly as it had started it was over. He had luckily kept his eyes on the ghost and moved over to get a closer look.
A chill ran through him as he realized it was mare, a stunning greying out mare. Ver took a deep calming breath and then cleared his throat rather loudly," Hello."
A hidden sense, one that she paid little attention to begun to ring lightly. A buoyant sweet sound, not unlike an alarm trilled through her very being. It brought with it a sense of expectation and with that lone realisation a flood of excitement rushed over her. She was being watched.
Survival instincts had long ago been lost on this greying mare. She turned slightly to face the stranger who's tone still lingered, on the air itself or in her mind alone she was not sure. In the second she allowed herself a brief glance she could see that his frame coloured as it was, stood higher and grander than even her own. This was enough to see her lower her skull in ready submission. Maw almost touching the cool earth with blank black orbs fixed on his approaching daggers.
She tasted the air unable to remain completely still as she felt she should. It was a heady scent, masculine when men had been so far and few in between. It turned her insides around, her earlier excitement being pushed aside as she gave over to the fire that licked unforgivingly at her joints making standing still as she was a near impossible task.
Too long, too long it had been. She was his before he even had even come to a complete halt before her.
