Welcome to Defying Gravity, a semi-realistic natural horse rpg!
There are no mutations, magic, or rainbow ponies here; the horses of the Homelands must carve out a life for themselves by their wits and strength alone. We have no cannons or "site-wide plot" to speak of as we've found that there are a ton of creative people out there and when our members are left to their own devices the plots stay fresh and fun for everyone. So if you're looking for a laid back site with no so called "unique" plot you must adhere to, Defying Gravity just might be the place for you!!

Thick winter coat was snagged as the lanky ebony brute laced his way through the scrub. Brushing up against each thick trunk as he stalked through the bleak night. He found solace in the solitude of the night, even though the scent and sound of others nearby was enough to remind him he wasn't alone. They were far enough away to keep him comfortable.
The company of others was not something he had ever enjoyed. Then again for the better part of his existence he had known nothing but solitude. Solitude in the form of ranks and ranks of silent soldiers, he spoke to none unless spoken to and a conversation was not had till months after his departure. Even now years passed had not made him any more comfortable with the idea of aimless chit chat and the comfort of being surrounded by many others was lost on him.
Large white stripped daggers were place precariously with ever step, to avoid making any unnecessary noise that would draw attention to himself. Well conditioned muscles worked slowly as he picked up the pace, long pillars stretching out eating up the ground.
♥ Do you feel alone? The subtle grace of gravity, the heavy weight of stone.
Makoori moved through the forest quietly, soft clouds of air drifting from her nostrils. The crisp winter air threatened to dig it's fingers into her skin, her half grown coat barely protecting her. A moon hung low in the sky, casting a muted glow upon the earth below it. With each wandering step Makoori took she left a print in the frozen grass, the frost crackling underfoot.
She hadn't a clue as to why she was awake during the night, nor why she took the opportunity to take a walk. She really wasn't one for the night time. To many shadows, places for predators to hide. It felt gloomy too, as if someone had cast a bad mood spell over the land. Makoori supposed that it was the moon that had drawn her out tonight. Her namesake.
She could vaguely smell the scent of others, although the matter of them being awake or not was uncertain. She hardly expected to meet others out at this time of night. She continued her walk in silence, ignoring the other scents. She wasn't craving a chat, but if she did happen upon another equine it would not hurt to talk.
She became aware of a growing scent, one that smelled positively equine like. Stallion like too. She ignored it, pushing it away. Most likely she was passing by a sleeping brute, and would pay if she woke him up.
She came to a crossroads in the forest where paths of grass worn down from equine travel crisscrossed along the ground. The red roan paused for a moment debating her direction before stepping out onto the flattened area. The scent of the stallion was becoming alarming, and she turned to face the smell, prepared for anything.
