ToirneachRain was falling from the sky in a gentle patter, a cleansing sort of rain that felt as if it could wash all of the bad things away. Perhaps all of the good things as well, but one never really could tell, could they? Bad feelings, good feelings - things unseen, but there nonetheless. Either way, it was a good sort of rain, and her dun coat was well darkened from being in the elements without shelter. It was easy for Toirneach to lose track of time, so she'd been out there for awhile, she didn't know how long, just staring into the sky and thinking. And now, admittedly, she was a little on the chilly side. The wind had picked up, the temperature dropping a little as the sun sank past its peak, and the unconscious shivers running through her snapped her out of her daydreams.
"Well, this is a new development," she mumbled lightly, icy blue eyes slowly searching the horizon. There, not far away, was a treeline. Large trees, beautiful, wide. Old, and powerful. Toirneach's ears perked forward, legs moving almost before she told them to. It was like a fantasy - what sort of fantastical wonders would she find there? Plus shelter, as the canopy seemed thick.
It didn't take her long to breach the solid treeline. She had spared a momentary thought to the scent markers of a stallion, but her thoughts moved quickly moved to the splendor of the forest around her. Birds flew beneath the thick canopy, one blue songbird flying down to tweet in front of her nose before flying away again. "Cute little thing," she said fondly, sighing in content. Her eyes settled on a particularly large tree, and she started toward it. Perhaps she could ascertain its age if she studied it...
