Welcome to Defying Gravity, a semi-realistic natural horse rpg!
There are no mutations, magic, or rainbow ponies here; the horses of the Homelands must carve out a life for themselves by their wits and strength alone. We have no cannons or "site-wide plot" to speak of as we've found that there are a ton of creative people out there and when our members are left to their own devices the plots stay fresh and fun for everyone. So if you're looking for a laid back site with no so called "unique" plot you must adhere to, Defying Gravity just might be the place for you!!

This summer's a hot one!! Things might get a little dicey for those on the south end of the Homeland who aren't used to temperatures above 70 or 80 F. Coldbloods beware!!

The warm, humid air could be stifling to someone of the Mainland, but to the Islanders it was just another beautiful day. Birds flew among the canopy, brightly colored and raucous. One white mare moved through the undergrowth at a leisurely yet purposeful pace, lithe limbs picking their way easily. Tuvi was a born Islander, and though she'd traversed between Inoa and Kalala, she'd never so much as spared a glance for the Mainland. Too many stories about temperatures so cold it turned your breath to ice. Land so barren that there was no water for miles. No, Tuvi had no interest in such a place. She had everything she needed here, and she wasn't necessarily the adventurous type. She lived her life in an easy and practical manner, and she had no reason to change that now.
It was, honestly, the reason she'd avoided the herds here. No muss, no fuss when you were on your own. Tuvi dreaded the niceties that came with socializing in a group. She didn't stand for meaningless chatter and a lot of mares resented her standoffish attitude. But really, she didn't care. She did well on her own.
However, she had to admit that it sometimes got lonely. It was a difficult balance, weighing out her disdain and her instinctive need for contact. Ah, well. She'd see what happened - and if she could stand any equine that might come for more than a few minutes.
