I figured if I want to draw you guys in here I should come up with a special and snazzy title. tee hee.
Anyway. This is a thread specifically for the plots that will be going down in the DRULAN HERD. Aww yiss. While we've already gained some interest with the herdprobably because it's already so freaking awesomeI figured I could get down a little more information and be able to answer any possible questions that will arise.
First off, A LITTLE BACKGROUND. It has been said that the Drulan Woods hold mystical qualities, and such an idea could never be more true. Many natives who are quite in tune with the forest can often hear it speaking to them, though not necessarily with a physical voice. If a horse finds himself seeking fresh water, the forest will lead him there. If someone wishes to be kept safe during the winter, the forest will protect her. The natives have often accepted the fact that everyone and everything that dies here will eventually become a part of the forest, contributing their own voice to the forest.
Now, getting into our little Bandit King, Tioga. He's a total gentleman and will pay respect to anybody who sets foot on his land as long as they respect the forest. He's never been nice and dandy all his life; in fact, he's sort of a former criminal. He was raised under his father's rule, but he and his brothers had grown tired of Angus' old traditions and ideals, and in response they rebelled in an irrational way. Dubbing themselves bandits, they kidnapped mares and foals, destroyed parts of the forest, and even led a predator or two too close to the herd. They got caught eventually, though they continued their acts after banishment until their numbers dwindled. He's given up his days of pillaging, but still keeps the title Bandit King as a reminder for what he's done and how far he's come.
Now, there's quite a few spots that need to be filled, which are listed below. Most of them are still relatively open, so have at it my friends.
- QUEEN. Ok I lied this one isn't really that open. I'm saving this for the mare that Tioga takes a liking to the most. Don't go making the ideal mare for him because I'll totally be shooting that down. Tioga's going to take his time and figure out what he wants. It's not up to us to pick and choose. He has the final say. >
- ADVISORS. The ones Tioga trusts the most! These will likely take some time to get filled, as trust needs to be built. But knowing him he'll likely take in a few, watching them closely until he's sure that they're fit for the job. They're also required to do a ritual as a part of their induction
which I haven't quite figured out yet but we'll cross that bridge when we get there.- MYSTICS. They're sort of like 'spiritual advisors'; they're the ones who are in tune the most with the forest, usually being able to read the wood's signs and warnings with ease. They usually serve as consultants to the other herd members, as they will often come to mystics seeking advice from the forest. Three or four of them would be nice, though five would probably work too. One mystic spot has already been claimed.
- APPRENTICES. Usually those under two or three that are training to become mystics or advisors. This rank will probably be used for when foals start being born into the herd.
- MEMBERS. Just general members of the herd. If you're not looking for a position in the ranks this is the category for you!
Also, I was thinking of adding a 'bandit' sort of category for the horses who want to be the general scouts/protectors of the herd. I'm not entirely sure how that's going to work yet, but if there's a ton of interest in it I should be able to work it out fast.
So that's all I can think of for right now. More will probably be added lateras if I don't have enough here already. If you have any questions about the concept or anything else, ask me here. Let's plot suckas.
